DSi - Nintendo Conference 2008

Well, Nintendo's press conference in Japan just finished. Luckily I stayed up late and watched a LiveBlog of the whole thing (from Wired) and am able to give you a run down of what happened.

DSi:

The biggest news of the conference was the DSi, a new version of the DS. It will have a bunch of new features, as follows:
  • 0.3 megapixel camera
  • Larger screens
  • Built in web browser
  • Built in photo editor
  • Smaller
  • No more GBA slot (sad)
  • MP3 player
  • SD-Card slot
  • Slightly redesigned shell (new wireless activity LED, newly placed power button)
  • Onboard memory
  • Store for downloadable games. Bought with "Nintendo Points"
  • Available in white and black
  • Releasing in Japan on November 1 for approx. $180 US
Pictures will be forthcoming.

New Games Announced:

Sin & Punishment 2 (Wii)
New Tales game (Wii)
New Punch-Out! (Wii)
Klonoa remake (Wii)
Mario & Lugi 3 (DS)
Re-release of Gamecube games such as Pikmin (Wii)
Another Code 2 (Wii)
Taiko Drum Master Wii (Wii)
Endless Ocean 2 (Wii)
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles (DS & Wii)

Video montage available here.

Wii News:

Not much news on the Wii front, except that software can now be downloaded directly to SD cards. Not quite a HDD, but it will do for now, I guess. New games, too, as seen above.

It's been a big night!

The Beginning

Hello. My name is Justin, and I'm a gamer. I like basking in the glow of a television, or getting lost for hours in virtual worlds. I like video games.

This is my gaming blog. I'll post thoughts on the industry, and on games, and anything related to gaming that I find interesting. You should read it, you just might enjoy yourself.
---
That's my introduction. It says everything that needs to be said, don't you think? Gets straight to the point. This is my gaming blog, please enjoy it.

I guess, though, I should tell you a bit about who I am. My name is Justin, and I'm a computer science student from Canada. I'm nearly 20 years old and have been playing videogames for nearly my whole life. Videogames are my passion and I have a lot of thoughts about gaming and the gaming industry, hence this blog. From here on out all my thoughts on gaming will be posted here, and hopefully you will find them insightful or entertaining, hopefully both.

As of now, this blog is still under construction. I'll clean it up and change things as time goes along, make it somehting to be proud of. So keep coming back, you'll have a hell of a time.
